Hello Everyone!  Welcome to my space at Saint Bonaventure High School!

A little introduction is in order, although I am a Southern California native from the Los Angeles area, I grew up primarily in Louisiana where I went to Louisiana Tech University after high school but felt tired of academics after a couple of years.  I then joined the Marine Corps and used the experience to mature and build self-discipline.  After the Corps, I settled in Ventura, returned to school at UCSB, and earned my B.A. in Biology, finishing with my Masters of Education and teaching credential in 1995.  I have been at SBHS since fall 1996.    22 Years, Whew!

With the advent of the school’s iPad 1 to 1 program I have adapted all of my classes to being as paper free as possible.  We are utilizing Schoology and Google drive for handing out and turning in papers and exams where possible.  We also utilize some excellent resources from our textbook’s website at and

I currently teach Honors Biology, AP Biology, CP Biology and Physics.

Some recent accolades include being selected  a 2016 Ventura County Star Readers’ Choice Favorite teacher.  A little article about this can be found here.
